About

Hi, I’m Annalisa, the founder of Annalisa Marie Pilates.

After years of working out in the gym and struggling to find exercises to reduce my stress and anxiety, I began to research alternative ways to move my body.

For years I thought I had to be dripping in sweat to feel I had worked out. Little did I know, but those high-energy workouts were raising my cortisol levels, putting my body under even more stress.

I began to research Pilates after reading about all the benefits it has for the body and mind. I started attending classes twice a week in a studio, before adding home practice too.

As I worked on my alignment, posture, and core I found myself wanting to learn more and improve my practice. I enrolled in a teacher’s Pilates course and absolutely loved it.

Since practicing Pilates most days I definitely feel in the best shape of my life. I have built strength and developed muscles I never knew I had… hello abs!

I qualified as a Pilates Instructor at the beginning of 2020 and haven’t looked back since. In 2022 I qualified in Reformer Pilates and now own my studio at Dunston House, Chesterfield.

I am continuously learning and developing and I am endlessly grateful that you are a part of my journey, and that I can be part of yours.

YMCA Level 3 – Diploma in Teaching Pilates

YMCA Level 3 – Award in Adapting Exercise for Ante Natal and Post Natal Clients

YMCA Level 2 – Suspended Movement Training
